Many of has been there. We know someone who is depressed and you do nothing or say nothing because you simply just don’t know what to do.
Micah Maddox shares her story and her insight in this subject.
In the November 2015 issue of Cherished Magazine she gives us 10 Things Not to Say to a Depressed Woman. In the December 2015 issue she shares 10 Things to Say to a Depressed Woman.
I wanted to share with you the helpful hint that really spoke to me. It is in the “what to say” article.
I’m praying for you!
Here is the thin–even though the article is about what to say–my biggest takeaway was to go a step further and not to just say those words. Micah encourages us to give a hug and pray…not later…pray with them right then and there.
It hit me how often do I say those words when I could easily just pray now!
Sure I’ll add them to my prayer list in my prayer journal but how much more would it mean for someone to pray in the moment.
Lord, I pray that you put someone in each of our paths that could use a prayer and I pray for us to be bold enough to pray with them and not just the words “I’m praying for you”!
You are amazing lovely lady!
I love sharing at these awesome blogs.
So true. If I was feeling in need, it sure would mean so much more for someone to take the time to pray with me right then and there. What a great reminder for us all to take on this challenge of helping in the moment. Thanks 🙂

Thanks for sharing Catherine!
Such a great reminder to take the moments God gives us to pray with those who are in need right there. Thank you for joining in the conversation at Weekend Whispers.
Thanks Barbie!
Sincere prayer is perhaps the very best thing we can do for a depressed person. The prayer itself is powerful with God’s power, and when the person hears you praying it, they know it’s really happening. Thanks for this.
Thanks Sylvia!
Yes! I’ve seen firsthand (on both sides of the coin) what a difference offering to stop and pray with someone can make!
So true. We need to take time to pray with one another, not just for one another. Thank you for the reminder!
I can so relate to this !! so glad you came by Welcome Home Wed. Laci @ Sequinsinthesouth.com
