In the September 2015 issue of Cherished Magazine the very sweet, Pamela Havey Lau, author of A Friend in Me-How to Be a Safe Haven for Other Women, let us have a sneak peek into her book with an excerpt titled We Need Others.
I really do recommend that if you haven’t carved out some time with your coffee and this month’s issue to do so now.
As a women’s small group leader in my own church, I found myself captivated by the stories from younger women and older women and their experiences and perception of the interaction between the ages in Pamela’s article.
Have you ever given it any thought?
It made me reflect on my own small group and the dynamics within in. I am grateful we have a mix of generations and how we are able to lift each other up.
What about your relationships? What is your reaction to the younger woman in your life? And what about the older?
The bottom line is this —
God created us for relationships.
We need each other.
Amazing lady – you are chosen, cherished and loved!
I love sharing at these wonderful blogs.
PS – The Cherished Everyday Fall Tour Extravaganza is starting next week. Keep up with the the stops and collect the goodies along the way …simply fill in your name and email on this page.
Like you, I have been blessed by women of all ages. We all bring something unique to a small group. Glad I stopped here this morning from Still Saturday as I think this was my first time here 🙂 Have a blessed Sunday!

I have a book club with the ladies in my church. I really love the conversations we have about the book we are reading, but even more so I enjoy the “talks” we have afterwards, and it’s not always pertaining to the book. Often someone will come to the group a little down, and when we ask…she will share what’s going on in her life. And then we can be a support to her. We have had some tearful group meetings, let me tell you. These weekly meetings are priceless to me.

Katrina – Thank you for sharing. I loved hearing about your book club and the support you give each other…definitely priceless.
I have always felt distant from the older women in my life. I just don’t why.. maybe because I wasn’t particularly around them when I was growing up so i didn’t understand the value of having them around. Now, with the few I have, I really appreciate them and the role they play in my life.
Relationship is vital. We all need people, young or old. We them around us.
Thank you Sheryl for sharing with us at #EncourageMeLinkup
Have a great weekend.

These sound like something I would enjoy reading. I attend a great moms group at a local church about twice a month and I absolutely love these women. It makes being a mom easier knowing you have such supportive mom friends.
So glad you linked up to our Welcome Home Wednesdays Linky Party this week.
Hi Sheryl, So good visiting your online home.
I love my older friends and they have been there for a long while.
Love this!
God Bless and I am glad to visit again
