I would have done anything to protect our relationship (no matter how destructive).
This is a quote from an article by Kristen Clark in the August 2015 issue of Cherished Magazine titled “The Source of My Happiness”.
The article shares a story of divorce..yes the big “D” and I don’t mean “Dallas”. I know from personal experience the struggles, questions, shame and disappointment that comes from a failed marriage. I have also prayed with, cried with and encouraged other women who have found themselves in unbearable situations, unloving or unhealthy relationships and yes some divorced.
The article shares more than the struggle and moves through the healing process after the divorce with these words,
My gratitude and joy in life are not because of my relationship with any human being (male or female), but because of my relationship with God.
If you are going through a similar situation take comfort and hold onto the Hope you have in your Loving Father.
If you know of someone who needs an encouragement, remind them to continue to be in gratitude. This could be the hope they need to continue on and to get a different perspective.
I would also like to chime in and challenge everyone who is in a marriage relationship to think about Kristen’s quote:
My gratitude and joy in life are not because of my relationship with any human being (male or female), but because of my relationship with God.
When you are secure in your relationship with God, you look at your relationship right now with all the ups and downs, all in a different light. Where is your gratitude and joy stemming from?
We hope you enjoy Kristen’s article in the August’s issue of Cherished Magazine.

This sounds like a wonderful article. I remember my divorce, but I found happiness and peace.
Hey Mary…thanks for sharing the hope that you too found happiness and peace after divorce.
