Glynnis Whitwer shares some of her wisdom from her book, Taming the To-Do List: How to Choose Your Best Work Everyday, in our January 2016 issue of Cherished Magazine.
Coming from the place of being a reformed “To-Do List-aholic”, I was immediately drawn to words of wisdom from her book. I love how Glynnis put things into perspective. I could identify with many of the stories in this book. My guess is you could too!
So as you look forward to the new year, do you have any plans for
Making this Year Different?
For me personally I have a few goals that I would like to reach…one of those goals is starting an online radio show. But just as Glynnis’ book sub-title states, I will have to be careful and “choose my best work everyday” in order to reach that dream. For instance, checking my emails are a lot easier then doing the research, planning or tasks to make a radio show happen.
She states in her article:
Most of us have good intentions, but when it comes to making the hard choices necessary to accomplish our goals, we falter.
She challenges us to not only choose the easy tasks because
So often, our highest and best callings in this life aren’t easy.
Thank you Glynnis for sharing those words of wisdom in helping us to tame our to-do lists and helping us to make this year different!
What are your goals?
It could be to attend your children’s soccer games this year, be brave and join a small group bible study and meet new ladies, or it could be as simple as trying to eat a little more healthy. Whatever your goals are you can do it. You are simply amazing and with just implementing the tip above to pay attention to your choices, you can see how making this year different just may happen.

We love sharing at these amazing blogs.
Yeah for you for stepping out and trying something new! I was a radio deejay and morning show host for many years. Speaking your heart out loud is so fulfilling. If you need any tips I would love to help. I am so blessed to have found Cherished. This month’s issue is simply amazing.
Thank you for the encouraging words Carolyn. I really do appreciate them. (And your offer for tips!)
Thank you for this encouraging article! Many of our callings are not easy, but they are worth all the work we put into them! Very cool magazine! Will definitely check it out 🙂

Thank you Kelly!
Thanks for sharing your goals—I wish you well in your exciting endeavours! My word for this year is “blessing” so I guess I’d love to make this year different by looking at everything with a fresh perspective, seeing how I can be a blessing in some small (or big!!) way rather than with my usual selfish tendencies… :/ Stopping by from Word of God Speak 🙂
Hey Laura -I love that your word is blessing!
so hard to do the hard unlovely stuff in order to reach the goals God has for us – but worth it! thanks for this. I’d like to begin doing 1-2 min radio spots – to share God’s welcoming heart/hosptiality tips. Tell me when you’re up and running! (:
