I want to find out how our readers would answer these questions:
What makes you feel Cherished?
What does being Cherished mean to you?
I’ll go first and everyone else can write in the comment section below their answers to one or both of these questions. Or perhaps I should tell you to go and comment right now before you read my response. Go ahead go…I’ll wait a minute.
Actually, I think I’ll start with what being cherished is not.
It is not finding self-worth by things I do. I’m not cherished by having a spotless house (and that is a very good thing!) It is not having the most friends, the best dinner parties or striving to be liked.
Being or feeling cherished is not because I serve at church, volunteer or help someone out.
You see being cherished is not something you earn.
It is simply being you – the true you.
The awesome, amazing you that God carefully and lovingly hand-crafted. He chose every part of your quirky personality.
He created that lovely sweet, caring spirit within you. He filled you with all your skills and passions that just seem so natural. So natural that you loose sight at how special and amazing they are.
Being and feeling cherished is recognizing God within you, you being the amazing you and embracing just how amazing you are!
You simply are cherished. No action required.
You are cherished as a daughter of God.
Be cherished just by being the true you.
Your turn… and no judgment. I want you to be the true you. For you, if you feel cherished because your kitty jumps and snuggles in your lap…I want to know it…got it?
Okay if you didn’t already jump down to comment it is now your turn, leave a comment….Go
